TV Wrestling Star on Independent Show

AEW Wrestler Jeff Hardy is scheduled to appear with independent pro wrestling company Game Changer Wrestling (GCW) next month.

GCW has announced Jeff Hardy is making his debut appearance at the My Name is GCW show in a non wrestling capacity on Friday August 4 in Detroit. Also scheduled to appear Mike Bailey, Masha Slamovich, Nick Gage and more. If you’re unable to catch Jeff Hardy’s debut in person, My Name is GCW is streaming live on FiteTV August 4 /starting at 8PM.

What’s in the Independents?

If you didn’t know better you’d think the independent pro wrestling scene is full of second rate people who need training and aren’t as good as their counterparts in the big leagues. Okay it’s kind of true, but there is a handful of people who are working on the independents who in my opinion are providing quality as good (if not better) than those in the WWE, AEW or other big league pro wrestling company.

Take Cheyenne Ortiz who ironically calls himself “The Voice” is a play by play announcer, ring announcer, interviewer and is becoming quite the content creator on social media and YouTube. This native New Yorker is branching out in the Northeast and is making quite the name for himself as a professional.

Cheyenne’s success stems from him not trying to be star, but allowing the wrestlers be the star. He currently has a short video series making its rounds on social media and YouTube where he asks what’s in a wrestler’s gear bag — the bag wrestlers use to carry their pro wrestling outfits and more.

Being a broadcast professional myself; Cheyenne Ortiz is gold in the independent pro wrestling scene and will leave a deficit when he moves to the next level. There aren’t many like him who just “gets it”. Cheyenne is becoming sought after because his professionalism and his trademark voice. He has a long and profitable road in front of him. Check out his work using the YouTube link below. That is what is in the independents.
